These beautiful, but pesky Bohemian Waxwings eat every berry off our Mountain Ash as they descend in swarms of up to 100 at a time. Very organised, they attack the trees one at a time before moving to the neighbouring tree!
One of our guests had the pleasure of watching goslings emerge from their shell. The tiny birds immediately made their way to the water. It is a special joy to watch the flocks of geese circle in V formation in the evening sky as they prepare their young to migrate south for winter.
A zoomed in photo of the beauty we enjoy from this lovely location. You can see this same view from the water's edge as the trees turn yellow.
Bonnyville is known for its beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The best place to be is along the lakefront where you will catch the reflection in the water. This picture was taken from a bedroom window, but the deck above the garage is the place to take a pic in winter.
The C2 (Centennial Centre) is two kilometres from Bethel-Aspen. It is the home of the Pontiac Hockey Team and if you are here over a weekend, you may be fortunate to catch one of their games. You will also find the gym where you can take out a day pass. If you are in Bonnyville for a large conference, it is likely at C2 as are most of the large concerts. But the Victor Lyle Theatre, just down the road from where we are situated, is home to smaller concerts and performances. In summer you will be entertained by the many outdoor events.
It's an angler's paradise, a beach for children to play on their inflatables, for others, a place for water sports or kayaking, for the osprey it's a place to catch their evening meal as they skirt above the water, or maybe a place to watch them. Three Provincial Parks absorb many holiday-makers as they arrive in their motor homes. But then there is Bethel-Aspen just ten kilometers away from Moose Lake where you can enjoy a comfortable stay, as well as enjoying the local amenities.
Strolling along the Jesse Lake trail at sunset is a lovely experience as you watch the colours changing and the reflections appear, especially if you find an area with waterfowl.
